Man Arrested in Connection with Ann Widdecombe Investigation

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in South Yorkshire on suspicion of murder in relation to the investigation involving Ann Widdecombe, police have confirmed.

"The suspect, who is a white British national, is now in police custody,"
stated Devon and Cornwall police.

Widdecombe, known as a former Conservative minister and currently a Reform UK justice spokesperson, was discovered with serious injuries at her home in Haytor, Devon, at 11:40 BST on Thursday. The attack reportedly occurred nearly 24 hours prior to her being found.

Earlier in the investigation, police had arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder; however, he was released on Saturday.
