Arrest Made in Connection with Manchester Synagogue Attack
A man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to disclose information related to terrorist activity concerning the Manchester synagogue attack.
Details of the Attack
Jihad Al-Shamie, aged 35, carried out an attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue on the morning of 2 October 2025. He used a car and a knife during the assault, which resulted in the deaths of worshippers Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz.
Al-Shamie, who was from Prestwich, was shot and killed by police at the scene.

Investigation and Arrests
Counter Terrorism Policing North West announced that a 49-year-old man was detained on suspicion of offences directly related to the synagogue attack.
Authorities conducted a raid on a property located on St James' Road in Higher Broughton, Salford, on Tuesday evening. The suspect is currently being questioned.
The total number of individuals arrested in connection with the attack now stands at eight. Among them is a 30-year-old man who has been charged with failing to disclose information relating to terrorist activity.
Additionally, another man has been charged with terrorism offences not directly linked to the synagogue attack.
