Discovery of Two Bodies in the Highlands
The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered at a property located in the Flow Country of the Highlands.
Emergency services responded to Trantlemore, a crofting township in Strath Halladale, situated south of Melvich, at approximately 12:30 on Thursday after concerns were raised about the welfare of two individuals.
Police Investigation and Statements
Police Scotland have stated that the deaths are being treated as unexplained but are not considered suspicious at this time.
A police spokesperson provided further information, noting that inquiries are in the early stages and officers continue to remain at the scene.
Location and Context
The Flow Country is an extensive region of peatlands that includes crofts and larger farms.
The spokesperson confirmed that the bodies were found inside the property near Trantlebeg.
"The deaths are being treated as unexplained, however they are not believed to be suspicious.
Inquiries are at an early stage and are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Officers remain in the area and anyone with any information or concerns can approach them.
