Labour MPs Voice Opposition to Starmer
A growing number of Labour MPs have publicly expressed opposition to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, with some demanding his resignation and others requesting a clear timetable for his departure.
Among those who have resigned are four ministers, including Home Office Minister Jess Phillips.
The Labour Party's leadership removal process requires 81 MPs to support a single challenger. While over 80 MPs have called for Starmer's resignation, there is currently no consolidated backing for any specific alternative candidate.
In contrast, a separate group of 100 backbenchers and junior ministers have signed a statement emphasizing that this is
"no time for a leadership contest".
