A preliminary hearing for the FAI is scheduled for 18 May at Perth Sheriff Court.

The Crown Office has stated that the inquiry is mandatory because the death occurred during the course of the farmer's employment.

Procurator fiscal Andy Shanks said: "The lodging of the first notice enables FAI proceedings to commence under the direction of the Sheriff.
"Mr Ennion's family will continue to be kept informed of significant developments as court proceedings progress."

Fatal accident inquiries are not designed to assign blame to any individual but aim to determine how the death occurred and identify precautions that could prevent similar incidents in the future.
