Eight youths charged after bus station attack

Eight youths have been charged in connection with an assault on a man at Kilmarnock bus station, an incident police are investigating as attempted murder.

Police Scotland reported that the 29-year-old victim was seriously assaulted on Green Street at approximately 21:45 on Friday.

The injured man was transported to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock; however, authorities have not disclosed details regarding his current condition.

A police spokesperson confirmed that seven male youths, ranging in age from 12 to 17, along with a 16-year-old female, were arrested and charged in relation to the attack.

They have since been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

"A report will be submitted to the relevant authorities."
