Needles Discovered in Limavady Car Park
Needles associated with drug use were found in a car park located in the Main Street area of Limavady, County Londonderry, on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities confirmed that the syringes were collected and removed for safe disposal. Police issued a warning emphasizing the particular danger that discarded needles or syringes pose to children in the community.
This incident follows a similar discovery of drug paraphernalia last week near a children's play area in Ballykelly, a nearby town.
Community Reaction
Jordan Wallace, a resident of Limavady, expressed concern over the situation, highlighting the risk posed to the public by those who discarded the needles.

"This issue appears to be getting out of hand, and this behaviour is most definitely not welcome within our community," he said.
"It is disgusting and completely unacceptable."
Police Statement and Actions
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) reminded individuals who use needles about the dangers of disposing of them irresponsibly.
"Such items can be dangerous, especially to younger children who may not be aware of what they have found," a PSNI spokesperson stated.
The police also confirmed their commitment to maintaining high visibility and targeted patrols in the area. They emphasized their use of all available methods to disrupt and apprehend drug dealers involved in the sale and supply of drugs, ensuring they are brought before the courts.
Council Response
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council reported that their staff responded promptly to the location, clearing the area to ensure it was safe for public use.
