Body of Brody Leach Found in River Severn, Police Confirm

Police recovered the body of 22-year-old Brody Leach from the River Severn in Shrewsbury after he was reported missing early Friday. His death is not being treated as suspicious, and the riverside area has reopened with ongoing patrols.

Body of missing man found in River Severn

The body of Brody Leach, aged 22, has been recovered from the River Severn in Shrewsbury by police.

Brody Leach was last seen entering the river in the early hours of Friday morning, just after 04:00 BST. He was reported to have been wearing jeans and no T-shirt at the time.

West Mercia Police stated that he appeared to have encountered difficulties in the water. The investigation into his death is not being treated as suspicious.

"His body has been formally identified by his family and his next of kin made aware, and asked for their privacy to be respected," the police said.

During the search operation, areas including Quarry Park, Porthill Bridge, and Victoria Avenue in Shrewsbury were cordoned off. West Mercia Search and Rescue assisted the police in the search efforts.

The riverside area has since been reopened to the public. However, additional police patrols are planned for Saturday to provide reassurance to the community.
