Residents Evacuated Following Ground Movement Discovery

Residents of a street in Clackmannanshire were evacuated after signs of ground movement were identified.

Clackmannanshire Council reported that 36 homes on Benbuck View in Coalsnaughton were evacuated on Monday evening.

A rest centre was established at Devonvale Hall but later closed after all affected residents were accommodated elsewhere.

The council stated that investigations into the cause of the ground movement are ongoing, with the Mining Remediation Authority present at the site.

The local authority was notified at approximately 21:30 on Monday.

"We are planning to carry out detailed investigations to determine the cause of the incident and any potential risks."

Clackmannanshire Council confirmed that all residents were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Response from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said:

"We were alerted at 20:59 on Monday to reports of several unsafe structures at Benbuck View, Coalsnaughton.

Operations Control mobilised three appliances plus specialist resources to the scene, where a number of properties were evacuated as a precaution.

There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 02:22 after ensuring the area was made safe."
