Arrest Following Barry Island Stabbing

An 18-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at Barry Island on Bank Holiday Monday.

The incident involved a 17-year-old who was stabbed in the leg and required hospital treatment. Authorities confirmed that the injuries sustained were neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

South Wales Police provided updates on the investigation, with Detective Superintendent Lisa Gore commenting on the current status.

"We have arrested a suspect and, at this stage, we are not looking for anybody else.
We understand this has caused significant concern and we will have an increased presence in the area over the coming days to reassure people.
I would like to thank those who have assisted our investigation so far."

The 18-year-old suspect remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
