Tragic Swimming Incident at Formby Beach

A 15-year-old girl, Chiedza Nyanjowa from Cheshire, died following difficulties while swimming in the sea at Formby beach on Bank Holiday Monday. She was transported to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in critical condition but passed away earlier on Saturday, according to Merseyside Police.

Emergency services responded to a safety concern at the beach on Albert Road at approximately 15:30 BST.

Family Tribute and Investigation

Chiedza's family expressed their sorrow in a tribute, stating:

"She would be greatly missed and remembered for her kind spirit."

A report regarding the incident has been forwarded to the Sefton Coroner's office for further investigation.
