14-Year-Old Among Three Teens Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Chelmsford Park

Three teenagers, including a 14-year-old, have been arrested after a 21-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Chelmsford's Central Park. Police continue to investigate and appeal for public information.

Fatal Stabbing in Chelmsford Park

Three teenagers, including a 14-year-old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a man in a park.

Essex Police responded to reports of an attack at Central Park in Chelmsford at approximately 19:00 BST on Friday.

Officers discovered a 21-year-old man suffering from critical injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the 14-year-old, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man have also been taken into custody. All three remain held by police.

Essex Police confirmed that all three individuals arrested are residents of Chelmsford.

On social media, the Chelmsford Central Parkrun announced that Saturday's event was cancelled "on police advice."

An Essex and Herts air ambulance was observed at the scene on Friday evening before departing.

Police Statement and Investigation

"This is a deeply distressing incident.
A family is grieving, and our thoughts remain firmly with them at this incredibly difficult time.
We are determined to get them answers and build as clear a picture as possible of the circumstances surrounding what has happened.
We can confirm that we are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with this incident, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
This took place in a busy public area, and while we have already received valuable assistance from the public, we continue to appeal for information. Even the smallest detail could prove crucial."

Detective Inspector Lydia George added that officers will maintain a presence in the Chelmsford area in the coming days.

Members of the public with information related to the incident are encouraged to come forward.
