Deadly Attacks Across Ukraine
Russian forces launched attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities early Thursday, resulting in three fatalities, including a 12-year-old child, and injuring over 20 individuals. The strikes caused significant damage to buildings, according to officials.
Moscow has conducted nearly nightly drone attacks on Ukraine since the onset of the four-year conflict, recently increasing the frequency of daytime strikes.
Casualties and Damage in Kyiv
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram the casualties in the capital city:
“As a result of the enemy attack on the capital, two people died – a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman.”
Rescue teams recovered a child from the rubble of a collapsed residential building in Kyiv's Podilsky district, Klitschko added. The attack wounded at least 10 people, including several medical personnel.
Additionally, a fire broke out in a building located in the Obolonsky district of Kyiv after missile debris fell, igniting vehicles in the vicinity, Klitschko stated.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, advised civilians to remain sheltered until missile alerts are lifted.
Attack in Dnipro
Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional administration in Dnipro, reported on Telegram that a separate strike in the central city resulted in one death and injured 10 others. Among the wounded was a 40-year-old woman hospitalized in serious condition.
It was not immediately clear if the woman was the individual reported deceased.
Additional Strikes in Kharkiv and Odesa
In the north-eastern city of Kharkiv, a drone strike injured a 77-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man, according to Oleg Synegubov, head of the regional military administration, via Telegram.
Meanwhile, five people were wounded in an attack on the southern port city of Odesa, as reported by Sergiy Lysak, head of the city’s military administration, on Telegram.
