Incident at Cardiff Children's Water Park

A man has admitted to attempted kidnap at a children's water park located in Cardiff.

Moynul Janu, aged 34, was apprehended outside the free-to-use "splash pad" in Victoria Park, Cardiff, in July 2025.

Police Response and Public Concern

Authorities received multiple calls from members of the public expressing concern about a man's behaviour in the park.

There were worries that the individual had been secretly recording children; however, no recording devices were found on Janu at the time of his arrest.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Following his arrest, Janu was charged with three counts of attempted kidnap and subsequently pleaded guilty to these offences.

Janu, who has no fixed address, is scheduled to be sentenced on 31 March at Cardiff Crown Court and has been remanded in custody.
