Firefighters Battle Wildfire Near Forth Rail Bridge Overnight

Wildfire Response Near Forth Rail Bridge

Firefighters worked throughout the night to control a wildfire close to the Forth Rail Bridge.

Three fire appliances were dispatched to North Queensferry, near the Fife Coastal path, shortly after 20:00 on Monday.

Flames were visible near the northern end of the bridge from across the Firth of Forth, but no injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated that one crew remained at the location to perform dampening operations, while the main fire had been successfully extinguished.
