Man Charged in Connection with Sydney Woman's Disappearance
A man has been charged with the alleged kidnapping and murder of a 58-year-old woman whose body has not yet been recovered.
Details of the Woman's Disappearance
Authorities have been investigating the disappearance of the woman, who failed to return to her home in Sydney's northwest on Tuesday. Family members informed police that they last heard from her around 4:50 pm on Monday, when she mentioned she was meeting a relative in Winston Hills.
The woman's car was discovered in Winston Hills, approximately 28 kilometers west of Sydney, at around 9:30 am the following day.
Investigation and Arrest
Detectives commenced their investigation on Thursday into the woman's disappearance. Subsequently, a 33-year-old man was arrested at approximately 1:40 pm. He was located sitting in a white Toyota Hilux in bushland along Parnell Fire Trail in Tomerong, south of Nowra.
“The body of the woman has not yet been located. Investigations are ongoing,” police said.
The man was transported to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with murder and denied police bail. He is scheduled to appear in bail court on Friday.
