Water Supply Disruption at Princess of Wales Hospital
Admissions to the emergency department at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend have been suspended due to a "significant temporary disruption" to the hospital's water supply.
Health officials have advised individuals requiring urgent treatment to seek care at alternative units while the issue is being resolved.
Impact on Patient Visits
In addition to halting emergency admissions, patient visiting was cancelled on Tuesday evening, according to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, which oversees the hospital's operations.
Response from Welsh Water
Welsh Water reported that it dispatched engineers to assist with the situation, although it clarified that the problem was not related to its services.
The company has also provided water tankers to supplement the hospital's water supply.
Health Board's Efforts and Communication
The health board posted an update on Facebook shortly before 15:40 BST, stating it was working to "restore services as quickly as possible."
"If you need urgent or emergency care, please attend another hospital wherever possible,"
"We will keep you updated as soon as further information becomes available."
