Recall Issued for Lidl Ireland Chicken Products
The Food Safety Authority Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall notice for two Lidl Ireland branded Irish chicken breast fillet products due to the detection of salmonella bacteria.
Although the affected batches are beyond their use-by date, the FSAI noted that these products were "suitable for home freezing."
The recalled items include batches of Lidl's Free Range 100% Irish Chicken Breast Fillets weighing 291g, and 100% Irish Diced Chicken Breast Fillets weighing 550g, both carrying a use-by date of 12 April.

The FSAI has advised consumers to inspect their freezers for these specific batches and strongly urged against consuming any of the implicated products.
"People infected with salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between six and 72 hours," the FSAI said.
Authorities have reached out to the Food Standards Agency and Lidl Northern Ireland to determine if salmonella contamination exists in any batches sold within Northern Ireland stores.
