TRNSMT Festival Adjusts Schedule for Scotland World Cup Match
Scotland's leading music festival, TRNSMT, will reschedule the set time of its Friday headliner to allow attendees to watch Scotland's World Cup match. Richard Ashcroft, the festival's Friday headliner, will perform earlier than originally planned so that festival-goers can remain on site to watch the Scotland versus Morocco game, which kicks off at 23:00.

Organisers have announced that Glasgow Green will feature the "largest screens in the country" to broadcast the match live. This World Cup marks Scotland's first appearance in the tournament in 28 years.
Festival and Match Details
The opening day of TRNSMT is scheduled for 19 June at Glasgow Green, with Richard Ashcroft, former lead singer of The Verve, headlining the event. The organisers have confirmed that Ashcroft's set will conclude well before the match begins, allowing attendees to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere.
The Scotland versus Morocco match is set for 23:00 on the same evening, representing Scotland's second game in the World Cup. This time coincides with the usual curfew at TRNSMT, where the headliner typically performs from approximately 21:30 to 23:00.
All ticket holders for the Friday and weekend sessions of TRNSMT will be permitted to stay on-site to watch the game.
Comments from Organisers
"This is going to be a historic moment for the festival and one we are incredibly excited about. It's sure to be a night that will live long in the memory."
"I couldn't think of a better addition to the Main Stage line-up than the Scotland national team, and showing the game will create a unique atmosphere, bringing the Hampden roar to Glasgow Green."
"Giving our fans the chance to see their favourite bands and then watch the game with thousands of Scotland fans in a World Cup is the stuff dreams are made of, and it shows exactly how TRNSMT is much more than a music festival."
These remarks were made by Geoff Ellis, chief executive of DF Concerts, the company behind TRNSMT.
Citywide Arrangements for the World Cup
In support of the tournament, Glasgow City Council has approved license extensions for pubs and bars throughout the city. This will accommodate the late kick-off times of Scotland's matches and other World Cup games.
Scotland's group stage matches are scheduled as follows: against Haiti at 02:00, against Morocco at 23:00 on 19 June, and against Brazil at 23:00 on 24 June. Several other matches during the tournament have kick-off times at 03:00 and 05:00, which means some venues may remain open until after 07:00.
In addition to TRNSMT's arrangements, other venues such as the OVO Hydro have announced plans to host World Cup watch parties, providing fans with multiple options to view the games live.
