Exclusive Snoop Dogg Performance at Swansea Business

Staff at a Swansea-based business described the experience as "absolutely nuts" after American rapper Snoop Dogg performed a private, hour-long set of "back to back classics" in their canteen.

The hip hop artist and Swansea City FC co-owner held the invitation-only event at the Au Vodka headquarters' canteen in Swansea, prior to attending his first home game at the club's stadium.

Just a day before, the canteen had been a casual space where employees played ping pong and pool. For the event, it was transformed into a nightclub setting, welcoming over 400 guests.

Au Vodka Co-Owners Reflect on the Event

Jackson Quinn, co-owner of Au Vodka, remarked on the memorable nature of the event:

"We will all remember this until we are looking back on this in our 80s saying 'I can't believe Snoop played in our office'."

Quinn noted the unexpected extension of the performance, initially planned as a DJ set but evolving into an hour-long sequence of classic hits, which was met with enthusiastic applause.

"We couldn't ask for anything better," he told Radio Wales Drive.

Charlie Morgan, also a co-owner of Au Vodka, described the gig as "really last minute," with nearly all staff members in attendance alongside friends, family, and local influencers.

The event was facilitated through their business partner and DJ, Charlie Sloth, who has connections within the hip hop and rap community.

Among the attendees were Welsh boxer Joe Cordina and former Swansea striker Lee Trundle.

Impact of Snoop Dogg's Investment in Swansea

Discussing the influence of Snoop Dogg's involvement with Swansea City and local enterprises, Quinn stated:

"It's amazing for putting Swansea on the map. That's something we actively aim to do all the time.
"He's a global name and maybe one of the most famous people in the world."

Morgan and Sloth confirmed they planned to attend the game that evening and expressed optimism for a Swansea victory.

Snoop Dogg's First Appearance at Swansea City Stadium

Snoop Dogg requested fans to participate by twirling towels during his inaugural visit to the club.

The American rapper, a minority owner of the Sky Bet Championship club alongside television host Martha Stewart and footballer Luka Modric, made his debut appearance at the Swansea.com Stadium during the Championship match against Preston North End on Tuesday evening.

He asked for a sold-out crowd to be seated before kickoff to twirl complimentary towels, a tradition common in American sports.

Dressed in the club's all-white kit featuring the Swansea crest, dark sunglasses, and a beanie, Snoop entered the pitch through a guard of honour and completed a pre-match lap as fans twirled their towels.

He then took his seat in the stands, although Swansea fell behind by a goal during the match.

The rapper's visit had been announced the previous week, and he shared his anticipation on the club's official website:

"I know it has been a long time coming, but I cannot wait to finally make my first visit to Swansea.
"From the moment we talked about me becoming an owner, I have been looking forward to the chance to be with you all at the Swansea.com Stadium.
"I have heard so many great things about the atmosphere, especially when we play under the lights."
"When I watched the Wrexham game, where we showed we are the capital of Welsh football, the noise in the stadium sounded incredible even from over 5,000 miles away. I can't wait to be a part of it."

Club Leadership and Commercial Interest

Tom Gorringe, chief executive of Swansea City, noted that Snoop had visited the training ground on Monday and expressed enthusiasm about his presence.

"It's not just a gimmick, he buys into what the club means and what it means to the wider city,"

he told BBC Wales.

Gorringe also highlighted significant commercial interest generated by Snoop Dogg's involvement.

"We're operating at a level we haven't done probably ever before, even in the Premier League days, in terms of our commercial swing and the brands we're speaking to."

Snoop Dogg's Recent Public Engagements and Career Highlights

The rapper recently attracted attention at the Winter Olympics, where he served as an honorary coach for Team USA and a special correspondent for NBC. During the event, he requested a photo with British curlers Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds.

Snoop Dogg, known for hits such as "Gin and Juice," has enjoyed a successful music career spanning over three decades, achieving UK chart-topping singles and earning 16 Grammy nominations.
