Netflix Unveils Trailer for New Thriller Apex
Netflix has released the trailer for its latest survivalist thriller, Apex, featuring Welsh actor Taron Egerton in a leading role.
The streaming platform announced that Egerton will portray a "cunning killer" in this hunt-or-be-hunted narrative, starring alongside Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
In the action-packed trailer, the Golden Globe-winning actor adopts an Australian accent as he pursues Theron's character.
The Rocketman star, who was raised in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, encountered a vastly different environment while filming in the Australian wilderness.

Photographs from the production reveal Egerton with a shaved head.
He shared with People magazine:
"I was very excited by not having to worry about what my hair looked like every day."
In a rare role as an antagonist, Egerton plays a lethal assassin named Ben, who stalks Sasha, portrayed by Theron, after a chance meeting at a petrol station.
The fictional setting for the chase, Wandarra National Park, is inspired by New South Wales, with principal filming conducted in the Blue Mountains, located west of Sydney.
Both Egerton and Theron underwent intensive training to prepare for their roles, including practicing extreme sports and fight choreography.
Theron commented on her preparation:
"I had never climbed, except for trees when I was a kid in Africa.
When I got to Australia I was kayaking a lot. That's a massive workout.
I was just getting as strong as I could because I climb all of the actual mountains in the movie.
I'm climbing all of it - and I'm climbing it barefoot on my own raw feet."

Egerton, known for his role in the Kingsman spy franchise and for receiving a BAFTA nomination for his portrayal of Elton John in Rocketman, reunited with Theron, with whom he previously worked on the 2019 film.
The two actors maintained a close friendship and recently met at a surprise lunch celebrating the singer's birthday on Wednesday.
Apex will be available for streaming on Netflix starting 24 April.

In the film, Egerton adopts an Australian accent as the villain, enhancing the authenticity of his character.
