The celebrated Celtic folk singer, songwriter, and harpist hailed from the Irish-speaking Donegal Gaeltacht region of Gaoth Dobhair. Over her career, she recorded approximately 25 albums and achieved worldwide sales of millions of records.

As the eldest of nine siblings, Brennan rose to fame performing alongside her family in Clannad, a group established in 1970.
