Rail Disruption Continues After Bridge Collision

Rail passengers are advised to expect ongoing disruption on the West Coast Main Line through Warwickshire following a partial collapse of a railway bridge caused by a vehicle collision.

The incident occurred on Thursday on Marston Lane in Whitestone, Nuneaton, resulting in the blockage of the rail line and the closure of the road between Forders Lane and Nuneaton Road.

Service Updates and Impact

In a Friday update, National Rail reported that the lines between Nuneaton and Rugby have reopened; however, trains are operating at reduced speeds and may still face cancellations, revisions, or delays of up to 10 minutes.

They further indicated that disruption is expected to continue until at least 12:00 BST.

Network Rail described the bridge as "seriously damaged" due to the incident but confirmed that no injuries were reported.

"The bridge was seriously damaged in the incident but confirmed no-one was injured."
