Andy Murray to Join Jack Draper’s Coaching Team for Grass-Court Season

Andy Murray, a two-time Wimbledon champion, will return to tennis by joining Jack Draper’s interim coaching team during the upcoming grass-court season. Draper is preparing for his comeback following a recent knee injury.

Draper and Delgado Part Ways

British men’s No. 2 Jack Draper has ended his coaching partnership with Jamie Delgado after six months. The duo collaborated at only four ATP tournaments this year due to Draper’s injuries over the past month.

“I am very grateful for everything Jamie Delgado has done for me over these past six months,” said Draper in a statement. “He is a world-class coach and a great man. In the interim, I will continue to be supported by the excellent team at the LTA, with the addition of , who will be supporting me throughout the grass-court season.”

Draper’s Injury Challenges and Career Highlights

Draper, who achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 4 last season, has faced a challenging 12 months due to multiple significant injuries. After recovering from a bone bruise to his playing arm that sidelined him for approximately seven months, the 24-year-old sustained a knee injury in April at the Barcelona Open. This injury forced him to withdraw from the entire clay-court season, including the French Open. He is expected to return at the start of the grass-court season.

Draper has never advanced beyond the second round at Wimbledon. In contrast, Murray won the men’s singles title at Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016.

Murray’s Coaching Experience Since Retirement

This appointment marks Murray’s second coaching role since retiring from professional tennis in 2024. He previously held a highly publicized six-month coaching stint with Novak Djokovic, his most notable rival during his playing career, in the first half of last year.
