Sidecar Duo Hospitalized Following Incident at Isle of Man TT

Dean Harrison led Tuesday's Isle of Man TT qualifying with the fastest Superbike lap. A sidecar session was halted due to an incident, with two spectators airlifted for medical care after a crash involving a competitor.

Dean Harrison Leads Superbike Qualifying at Isle of Man TT

Dean Harrison, now in his third year with the Honda Racing team, recorded the fastest time in Tuesday's first qualifying session for the Isle of Man TT. The Honda Racing rider topped the Superbike leaderboard with an average speed of 133.925 mph, completing a lap in 16 minutes 54.206 seconds.

The five-time TT winner initially posted a lap of 133.222 mph from a standing start on his opening lap before improving by more than five seconds on his second circuit. Harrison, originally from Yorkshire and currently based on the Isle of Man, was a double winner in the Superstock class last year, marking his first race victories since 2019.

Michael Dunlop secured the second fastest time in the Superbike class on his Hawk Racing Honda with a speed of 130.341 mph, nearly 28 seconds behind Harrison. The top six in the Superbike qualifying session were completed by Manx rider Nathan Harrison, Ian Hutchinson, David Johnson, and John McGuinness.

Superstock and Supersport Qualifying Results

Australian rider Josh Brookes led the Superstock qualifying leaderboard with a lap speed of 130.197 mph on his DAO Racing Honda. Fourteen-time winner Peter Hickman was second with 129.42 mph, followed by Jamie Coward at 128.702 mph.

In the Supersport category, Michael Dunlop was the fastest with a lap speed of 126.922 mph on his V2 Ducati. Dunlop, from Northern Ireland, is aiming to extend his streak of eight consecutive race wins in the class. Brookes was second at 124.271 mph on a Suzuki, with Hickman third on his Triumph at 123.584 mph.

Sportbike and Sidecar Sessions

Paul Jordan topped the Sportbike speeds with a lap of 120.208 mph on an Aprilia. Jamie Coward and Mike Browne followed in second and third places with speeds of 119.199 mph and 119.097 mph, respectively.

The concluding sidecar qualifying session was cut short due to a red-flag incident. Race Control issued an update stating they were

"managing an incident that occurred at Brandish"

Monday Practice Session Incident and Hospitalizations

The opening practice session of the 2026 event on Monday was red-flagged following a crash on the northern section of the 37.7-mile (60 km) Mountain Course. This led to the cancellation of the remainder of the day's schedule.

Two spectators were subsequently airlifted to the UK for specialist medical treatment after a competitor crashed into the crowd. Event organisers confirmed that six other spectators and the motorbike racer involved had been discharged from hospital.
