The match featured limited scoring opportunities, but Welsh forward Betsan Thomas consistently challenged the Scottish defense with her speed and stick control.

Thomas earned Wales' first penalty corner, from which Caitlin Witham forced a save from Scotland's goalkeeper Jessica Buchanan.

Scottish player Sarah Jamieson nearly increased the lead in the third quarter but struck the post, while Ellie Mackenzie, Scotland's standout performer, hit the post in the fourth quarter.
