Warrington Wolves secured their second consecutive win in the Super League by withstanding a strong second-half comeback from Wakefield Trinity.
The Wolves, who had a weekend off due to Hull Kingston Rovers' participation in the World Club Challenge, appeared to control the match during the first half.
Tries from Toafofoa Sipley and Albert Hopoate, combined with Marc Sneyd's accurate goal-kicking, gave Warrington a 14-2 lead at halftime.
Wakefield Trinity, having recorded their first win of the season against Huddersfield the previous week, mounted a strong response. Jake Trueman played a key role by setting up tries for Max Jowitt and Jayden Myers.
Warrington responded as Australian newcomer Josh Smith scored his inaugural try. However, Oliver Pratt's try for Wakefield created a tense finish. The match was ultimately decided by Sneyd's drop goal and a late try from Toby King.
