Warrington Dominate Huddersfield to Secure Third Place
Albert Hopoate scored Warrington's first try during a comfortable night at the Accu Stadium as the Wolves continued their strong Super League start by defeating Huddersfield Giants. The victory moved Warrington above holders Hull KR and into third place in the standings.
The Wire delivered a commanding performance in the opening 40 minutes, running in five unanswered tries to outclass Huddersfield in a one-sided first half.
Experienced half-back Marc Sneyd contributed significantly by kicking five goals, which elevated him to second place on the all-time Super League goalscorers list. Sneyd surpassed former Huddersfield player Danny Brough, with only Kevin Sinfield ahead of him.
Huddersfield endured a difficult evening, dropping to the bottom of the table with just two wins after suffering their third consecutive Super League defeat.
First Half Highlights
Albert Hopoate opened the scoring for Warrington in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a drop under minimal pressure by Niall Evalds to sprint clear and score in the right corner.
Sneyd then demonstrated his experience by kicking behind the Huddersfield backline to the onrushing Toby King, who scored on his 250th career appearance.
A zippy cut-out pass from Ewan Irwin found Josh Smith, who weaved inside Adam Swift to score Warrington's third try. Shortly after, Sam Stone exploited significant space in the Huddersfield defense to dive over.
Warrington winger Matty Ashton appeared to score their fifth try in the first period, but it was disallowed due to a knock-on.
Joe Philbin then powered over from close range in front of the posts. Meanwhile, Niall Evalds left the field with a head injury as Huddersfield players were booed off at halftime.

Second Half Developments
The halftime break offered Huddersfield an opportunity to stem Warrington's attacking momentum. However, James Bentley of Warrington received a 10-minute sin-bin for a high shot on Jacob Gagai, reflecting his frustration.
With Bentley off the field, Huddersfield believed they had capitalized on the numerical advantage when Adam Swift spun superbly to score on the left edge at the hour mark. However, the try was ruled out for obstruction.
Swift eventually scored moments later, cutting inside two missed Warrington tackles on the touchline to finish with skill, marking his 30th try in 35 appearances for Huddersfield.
After Bentley had a try disallowed for Warrington due to a knock-on, Huddersfield's Tui Lolohea appeared to score their second try by diving over. Upon review, it was determined he had knocked on during the act of grounding the ball.
Adding to Huddersfield's difficulties, Jordan Crowther executed a cut-out pass from dummy half to Ashton, who had an easy task to score Warrington's first try of the second half with seven minutes remaining. Sneyd successfully converted the try from the touchline.
