Josh Adams Extends Cardiff Rugby Contract
Wales wing Josh Adams, renowned for his three tries during Wales' 2019 Grand Slam, has signed a new contract to prolong his tenure with Cardiff Rugby.
The 30-year-old's previous agreement was set to expire in June, but he has now agreed to fresh terms ensuring a long-term commitment at the Arms Park.
"It was an easy decision for me to make," said Adams.
"My family are very settled in Wales and I absolutely love playing for Cardiff. I hope the supporters can see how much this place and club means to me in my performances."
Adams, who was part of the British & Irish Lions tour in 2021, joined Cardiff in 2019. Since then, he has scored 37 tries across 62 appearances for the region.
Following the example of fellow Welsh players Alex Mann and James Botham, who also recently signed new contracts with Cardiff, Adams expressed his ambition to contribute to the club's continued progress.
"We have continued to progress from last season, and we have put ourselves in a good position in the URC (United Rugby Championship)," he said.
"I'm hopeful that the club will continue to push to have the best people in the building so we can continue to evolve and move further forward next season."
Current Season Performance and Team Standing
This season, Adams has scored six tries in eight domestic appearances, helping Cardiff maintain their position currently sixth in the URC table.
Coach's Remarks on Adams' Commitment
Cardiff head coach Corniel van Zyl commented on Adams' contract extension:
"Everyone at Cardiff is really pleased that Josh has committed his future to the club.
It is such a privilege to have a player of his ability and experience staying on."
"The biggest thing about Josh is his drive to succeed from himself, his family and Cardiff. He brings that to the team every day, leading the players, giving them advice and just being an awesome team-mate.
It is an absolute pleasure to work with Josh and see the impact he has on the group around him."
