Jarrod Evans Returns to Cardiff
Wales fly-half Jarrod Evans has rejoined Cardiff following a three-season tenure with Harlequins. The 29-year-old will compete in the United Rugby Championship (URC) as Cardiff aims to advance further in the competition, having reached the quarter-finals. Evans seeks to increase his international experience, currently holding 17 caps for Wales.
During his initial period with Cardiff, Evans made 126 appearances, accumulating 765 points and contributing to the team's 2018 Challenge Cup victory.

Evans transitioned to Harlequins in 2023, where he appeared in 48 matches. While at Quins, he contended for the fly-half position with England and British and Irish Lions fly-half Marcus Smith.
Player Development and Experience
"I feel like I have matured as a player and person, it's good to get different experiences,"
"I've had three seasons with Harlequins where I was out of my comfort zone, experiencing a different environment and style, so hopefully there are things I can bring back to Cardiff."
Cardiff's Recent Progress
Cardiff qualified for the URC play-offs for the first time last season after narrowly missing out by a point in 2025. The team recorded just one loss at the Arms Park during that campaign.
"I want to help build on the success I've seen since I left,"
"We have so many good, young, talented players coming through with some established senior internationals as well.
"I just want to add what I can, and hopefully the club can go on and build on last season."
Evans initially moved to Harlequins due to Cardiff's financial constraints, which limited their ability to offer competitive contracts.
International Ambitions
Evans aims to re-establish himself in the Wales squad after being omitted from the recent summer tour in favor of Dan Edwards and Sam Costelow. He has made six appearances under coach Steve Tandy and notably scored the match-winning penalty in Wales' autumn victory against Japan.
Cardiff Head Coach Comments
Cardiff head coach Corniel van Zyl expressed optimism about the competition for the starting fly-half position at the Arms Park, emphasizing the need to strengthen this role as the team enters the Champions Cup.
"Moving into the Champions Cup, we felt fly-half was an area we needed to strengthen and he (Evans) will now compete with Callum Sheedy and Ioan Lloyd in a pivotal position for the team where we have some real strength,"
"Everyone at the Arms Park will know his attacking style of play and I am looking forward to seeing that, but he has also developed his game at Quins.
"He has a really balanced game between attacking and control. He will also bring a lot off the pitch, helping drive our standards, culture and environment."
Additional Signings
Evans is Cardiff's fourth signing for the season, joining centre Le Roux Malan, loose-head prop Scott Sio, and flanker or lock Semisi Paea.
