Harvey Cuckson Joins Scarlets on a Permanent Basis

Scarlets have confirmed the permanent signing of lock Harvey Cuckson from Bath following two loan spells with the club. The 22-year-old, who developed through Worcester Warriors' academy and hails from north Wales, has made five appearances in the United Rugby Championship (URC) for the Llanelli-based team this season.

Standing at 6ft 7ins, Cuckson made a notable impact after joining Scarlets amid a second-row injury crisis last October.

Interim Director of Rugby Praises Cuckson's Impact

"He came in at short notice ahead of a challenging tour in South Africa. He showed a level of composure and physicality that stood out straight away.
He embraced everything we asked of him, strong at the set-piece, worked hard defensively and, importantly, showed a real appetite to learn and improve."

Interim director of rugby Nigel Davies highlighted Cuckson's immediate contribution and dedication to the team.

Scarlets' Recruitment Strategy and Future Prospects

Cuckson is the second confirmed summer signing for Scarlets, following the acquisition of Wales loose-head prop Corey Domachowski from Cardiff.

Playing Experience and International Background

During the URC season, Cuckson has competed against teams including the Lions, Sharks, Glasgow, Dragons, and Ulster. Additionally, he has represented Bath in the Premiership Cup and Worcester in the Championship this season.

The Welsh-qualified former England Under-20s international expressed enthusiasm about his permanent move to Scarlets.

"To be a part of the Scarlets and to play my rugby in Wales is a huge opportunity for me,"
"I'm looking forward to the challenge of the URC and getting stuck in with the squad in pre-season."

Upcoming Fixtures

Currently positioned one place from the bottom of the URC table, Scarlets are preparing to face Ospreys in Bridgend on Saturday, before concluding the season with a home match against Dragons.
