Huddersfield Ends Wigan's Perfect Start
Super League leaders Wigan Warriors experienced an unexpected home defeat against bottom-placed Huddersfield Giants, halting their 100% winning streak this season. This victory also marked the end of Huddersfield's five-game losing streak, which had led to the departure of head coach Luke Robinson.
Despite having scored only eight tries across their first five Super League matches, Huddersfield managed to score six tries in this game, surprising many observers. Early tries from Jacob Gagai, Tanguy Zenon, and Niall Evalds established a 16-0 lead for the Giants. Additional tries came from debutants Jacob Douglas and Connor Wrench, along with returning captain Adam Clune, securing a well-deserved win and moving Huddersfield level on points with Leigh Leopards.
Wigan's efforts were limited to tries by Zach Eckersley, Jack Farrimond, and Liam Farrell during a difficult afternoon at the Brick Stadium. Despite the loss, Wigan remains two points ahead of Warrington Wolves and Wakefield Trinity at the top of the table.
