Michael Lyster's Career and Legacy
Michael Lyster, one of RTÉ Sport's most recognized broadcasters, has passed away at the age of 71. He joined RTÉ in 1979 and became best known for his role as the presenter of The Sunday Game Live, a position he held for over three decades.

Lyster retired from presenting The Sunday Game in 2018, concluding his tenure with coverage of the All-Ireland Gaelic football final between Dublin and Tyrone.
Contributions and Interests
Beyond Gaelic games, Lyster contributed to RTÉ's coverage of the Olympic Games and other major sporting events. His versatility extended to presenting a variety of sports programmes including horseracing, athletics, rugby, football, motorsport, and greyhound racing.
In addition to his broadcasting career, Lyster had a notable personal interest in rally driving. He once competed in the Cork International Rally, where he achieved a third-place finish.
