Luke Littler Claims Top Spot in Premier League Darts
World number one Luke Littler secured his fifth night victory of the Premier League Darts season, reclaiming the top position in the league table. The 19-year-old continued his strong form following last week's triumph in Liverpool with another commanding performance in Aberdeen, surpassing Jonny Clayton in the standings.
Both Littler and Clayton have already secured their places for the season-ending play-offs scheduled at London's O2 Arena on 28 May. Meanwhile, it was a notable evening for the contenders chasing the leaders, with world number two Luke Humphries reaching only his second final of the season.
Humphries challenged Littler fiercely, pushing the match to a last-leg decider—the fourth such encounter between the two in the past 13 weeks. Despite a strong effort, the teenager Littler prevailed.
During the match, Humphries achieved a break in leg seven by capitalizing on Littler's missed bullseye and then held his throw to come within one leg of securing his first night win of the year. However, Littler responded by winning three consecutive legs.
He secured a break in leg 10, setting up the decisive final leg. Although Littler missed three match darts on his preferred double 10, he ultimately clinched victory with his fourth attempt.
The match was of high quality, with Littler averaging 104.11 compared to Humphries' 103.10.

Premier League Darts Format and Points System
Premier League Darts consists of 16 initial weeks in the league stage, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final each night.
Each of the eight players is guaranteed to face the other seven in the quarter-finals during weeks one to seven and weeks nine to fifteen. The fixtures for weeks eight and sixteen are determined based on the league table standings. This arrangement ensures that the fourth and fifth placed players will meet in Sheffield on the final league-stage night, potentially deciding the play-off positions.
Players earn two points for each quarter-final win, an additional point for winning their semi-final, and five points for winning the night.
The top four players after the group stage advance to the play-off night at London's O2 Arena on 28 May. The semi-finals are contested in best-of-19-leg matches, with first place facing fourth and second playing third. The final is a best-of-21-legs match.
If players are tied on points after the 16 weeks, their positions are determined first by the number of nights won, followed by matches won.
