Kirsty Muir Narrowly Misses Medal in Big Air at Winter Olympics
Freestyle skier Kirsty Muir delivered another strong performance for Team GB at her second Winter Olympics, finishing fourth in the big air event. She achieved a combined score of 174.75 points from her two best runs, falling just 3.5 points short of the bronze medalist, Italy's Flora Tabanelli.
This result follows closely on the heels of Muir's near-podium finish in the slopestyle event, where she missed out on bronze by a mere 0.41 points exactly one week earlier.
Canada's Megan Oldham secured the gold medal in the big air competition. China's Eileen Gu, the defending Olympic champion who was competing in big air for the first time since her title win four years ago, earned the silver medal.
The final was postponed for over an hour due to a heavy blizzard at Livigno Snow Park. Additionally, Mathilde Gremaud, a strong contender for a medal, was among two Swiss athletes who withdrew from the event at the last minute due to injury.
