Partey Denied Entry to Canada for Ghana's World Cup Opener
Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will be absent from his nation's opening World Cup match in Toronto against Panama after being refused entry into Canada.
Partey, aged 32, faces serious legal challenges as he has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of rape and one count of sexual assault. These allegations involve four different women and span incidents that reportedly occurred between 2020 and 2022.
He is scheduled to stand trial next year regarding these charges.
Ghana boss Queiroz has expressed no concerns over Partey's selection despite the ongoing legal issues.
