Qualifying Permutations
The league stage of UEFA's Women’s World Cup qualifiers continues until 9 June. Four direct qualification spots for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil will be determined by that date, while 32 places in the playoffs, which will be drawn on 18 June, remain available. Additionally, teams are competing for promotion and relegation positions ahead of the next Nations League edition.
England will secure qualification as group winners if they avoid defeat against Spain today. Conversely, Spain will be confirmed in the playoffs if they fail to beat England.
If Spain defeats England, both teams will be level on 12 points, and qualification will then be decided based on goal difference.
Iceland and Ukraine complete the group. Both have secured playoff spots, and Iceland will avoid relegation if they do not lose to Ukraine.

Match Context
The latest chapter in the Spain-England rivalry unfolds today in Mallorca, where the reigning World Cup champions host the European champions.
The two teams have faced each other six times since Sarina Wiegman’s England side defeated Spain 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Euro 2022. Most recently, England won 1-0 at Wembley and currently hold the only perfect record in Group A3. They will qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil with a game to spare if they avoid defeat today.
Spain have experienced similar scenarios before. In the 2025 Nations League, Spain lost 1-0 at Wembley but later beat England 2-1 to qualify for and ultimately win the World Cup in Australia.
Permutations and team news will be provided ahead of the 8pm BST kick-off.
