Ryan Reynolds Teases Gift Idea for Welcome to Wrexham Season 5
Ryan Reynolds has humorously suggested that a defibrillator would be an appropriate gift to accompany the upcoming fifth season of Welcome to Wrexham.
On Tuesday, Disney+ released the official trailer for the fifth series of the documentary, which follows Wrexham FC co-owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The Hollywood duo have played a significant role in transforming Wrexham from a non-league club to the verge of reaching the Premier League since acquiring the North Wales football club five years ago.
"I think a defibrillator is the traditional fifth season gift?" Deadpool star Reynolds wrote on X while sharing the trailer that depicts Wrexham preparing for competition in the Sky Bet Championship after three consecutive promotions.
"Would make sense for this show," he added.

Welcome to Wrexham Renewed Through 2029
In April, it was announced that Welcome to Wrexham has been renewed for an additional three seasons, ensuring the series will continue until 2029.
The FX documentary series has showcased the lives of players and staff at Wrexham FC, as well as members of the wider community in Wrexham. It has earned critical acclaim, winning 10 Emmy Awards and two Critics' Choice Television Awards.
Season Five Focus: Promotion Push and New Squad
The fifth season documents Wrexham's ongoing campaign to reach the top tier of English football under manager Phil Parkinson. It also highlights the new squad assembled during the summer of 2025.
Reynolds and McElhenney purchased Wrexham for £2 million in 2021. Since then, the club has ascended from the National League, the fifth tier of English football, to the Championship, which is one level below the Premier League.
With one regular season game remaining, Wrexham currently hold the final play-off position, tied on points with Hull City and one point ahead of Derby County.
Wrexham are set to face Middlesbrough at home on Saturday. A victory in this match would likely secure their place in the play-offs, putting them two matches away from a Wembley final and three from promotion to the Premier League.
