Max Dowman Set to Make History as Youngest Premier League Starter

Max Dowman has been named in Arsenal's starting line-up for their upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace. At 16 years and 144 days old, Dowman will become the youngest player to start a Premier League match.

Dowman has already made five appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Jose Baxter, who started for Everton in 2008 at the age of 16 years and 198 days.

This milestone adds to Dowman's growing list of records. He was the youngest player to win the Premier League title when Arsenal secured the championship. In November 2025, he became the youngest player to feature in the Champions League at 15 years and 308 days.

Dowman also holds the record as the youngest Premier League player, having made his debut in August 2025 at 15 years and 235 days old. Additionally, he became the youngest Premier League scorer at 16 years and 73 days, netting a goal against Everton in March.
