Manchester City have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of Elliot Anderson, with the deal potentially rising to a British record £130 million. The 23-year-old England midfielder is expected to undergo a medical examination before finalizing his move to the Etihad Stadium.
Nottingham Forest had previously rejected two offers from Manchester City, holding out for a fee of this magnitude. This transfer fee will surpass the £125 million Liverpool paid Newcastle United for striker Alexander Isak last summer.
Personal terms between Anderson and Manchester City are not anticipated to pose any difficulties. Confidence in the completion of the deal grew after City submitted a third bid, which Forest accepted.
Forest's Transfer Plans and Targets
Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in acquiring Tottenham Hotspur's Lucas Bergvall as well as Davide Frattesi from Inter Milan. The club is expected to sign two midfielders during the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad.

Anderson is currently preparing for England's final Group L match against Panama at the World Cup, scheduled for Saturday at 22:00 BST. He has stated that he is concentrating fully on his international duties, setting aside thoughts about his club future.
"It's pretty easy really, I'm just focusing on the present, I'm blocking it all out," Anderson said.
"I've got a plan and it's to perform for England. I'm putting myself in the best position to cross the line and do that."

Anderson joined Nottingham Forest in 2024 from Newcastle United for a transfer fee of £35 million. Since then, he has made 88 appearances for the club, scoring four goals.
