Jordan Henderson's participation in the World Cup has been limited to a brief six-minute appearance at the conclusion of England's Group L victory over Panama.

England midfielder Jordan Henderson sustained a "really bad" wrist injury while celebrating England's dramatic last-16 World Cup win against Mexico, according to manager Thomas Tuchel.

Henderson appeared to fall awkwardly from the advertising hoardings following England's 3-2 victory and was seen leaving the pitch on a stretcher.

The 36-year-old Brentford midfielder's involvement in the tournament has been minimal, with only a short appearance at the end of the group stage match against Panama.

"Jordan [Henderson] just fell over and injured his wrist. It looks really bad," said England manager Thomas Tuchel on BBC One after the team's win on Monday.
"It's a quite serious injury and it doesn't fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. The doctor told me he is in hospital."
