Claire Emslie Recalled to Scotland Squad
Claire Emslie has been recalled to the Scotland national team for their final Women's World Cup qualifying matches against Israel, marking her return five months after giving birth.
The forward, who plays for Angel City, welcomed her first child, Jamie, in December. She resumed club football on 10 May, coinciding with Mother's Day in the United States. This appearance was her first for Angel City since 9 May 2025. Emslie's last appearance for Scotland was in April of the previous year during a 6-1 defeat to Germany under coach Michael McArdle.

The upcoming June fixtures will be held behind closed doors at the Bozsik Arena in Budapest, Hungary. The Scottish Football Association has not provided a detailed explanation for hosting the 'home' game outside Scotland, stating only that "the decision to play both matches at a neutral venue... is in line with the other teams in Group B4."
Additional Squad Changes and Context
AC Milan captain Christy Grimshaw has also been called up by current head coach Melissa Andreatta. Grimshaw returns after a 13-month absence due to ACL and MCL injuries and last represented Scotland two years ago.
Uncapped defender Kenzie Weir, who was a replacement in last month's squad, is included as the third new addition. Injured players Charlotte Newsham (ACL) and Maria McAneny (hip) have been omitted, along with Rangers teenager Mia McAulay.
Scotland remain unbeaten and lead Group B4 on goal difference, having secured qualification for the play-offs later this year. Their first match will take place on Friday, 5 June at 17:00 BST, followed by the final group game on Tuesday, 9 June at 18:00.
