Alex Jimenez Suspended as Bournemouth Probes Social Media Posts
Bournemouth have removed defender Alex Jimenez from their squad pending an investigation into social media posts. The 21-year-old Spanish right-back, who joined the club from AC Milan last summer, will not participate in the upcoming Premier League match against Fulham on Saturday.
The club issued a statement addressing the situation:
"AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez.
The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.
As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow's Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time."
Jimenez initially joined Bournemouth on loan before making his move permanent in February, signing a contract that extends until 2031. This season, he has made 32 appearances for the south coast side and scored one goal, notably in the 3-2 home victory over Liverpool.
