Arsenal React to Winning the Premier League Title

For Arsenal supporters, the wait to celebrate a Premier League title has been exceptionally long. On Tuesday, they ensured the occasion was memorable.

Fans gathered outside the Emirates Stadium and in nearby pubs as Manchester City faced Bournemouth, with City needing a victory to keep the title race alive.

Ultimately, Pep Guardiola's team could only manage a draw, confirming Arsenal as champions for the first time in 22 years.

As the final whistle sounded on the south coast, jubilant cheers erupted in pubs across north London, as Arsenal fans celebrated a moment they had feared might never arrive after recent near misses.

Celebrations also took place at the Gunners' training ground, where the squad had assembled for the evening. Similar to the pubs, the final whistle was met with exuberant celebrations. Players and staff embraced, danced, and chanted:

"Campeones, Campeones, Ole Ole Ole!"

Last month, Arsenal captain Declan Rice was seen emphasizing that

"it's not done"
following a loss to Manchester City. However, on Tuesday, with the title secured, he shared a photo of the players celebrating on social media with the caption:
"It's done."

The title victory came in Mikel Arteta's seventh year as manager, highlighting the achievements possible when a manager is given time.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson told BBC Radio 5 Live:

"Mikel Arteta's been there a long period of time. The best gift you can give a good manager is time. Yes you can give them hundreds of millions of pounds but you have to mould that money into a team, into a dressing room, a winning side. You give a good manager time? There's the proof."

Now Arsenal Fans Dreaming of the Double

When Arsenal went unbeaten to win the Premier League in 2003-04, earning the nickname 'The Invincibles,' few would have imagined it would take nearly 25 years to claim the title again.

Gunners fan Matt reflected on the long wait on the live text commentary page:

"I've got married, had a child, who's now a teenager, and got divorced, all since Arsenal last won the league."

To mark the end of this extended wait, some fans celebrated in unique ways, some more questionable than others.

Supporter Barry wrote:

"I've got a can of lager from 2021 commemorating the 1971 double. I said I wasn't drinking it until Arsenal won the league. It's five years out of date, wish me luck."

Looking ahead, the dream of achieving a double remains alive as Arsenal prepare to face Paris St-Germain in the Champions League final on 30 May.

Gunners fan Chloe expressed confidence on BBC Radio 5 Live:

"I am confident that we are going to do it. PSG are very worthy opponents. But I feel there is that edge and hunger and on our day... I feel that this is our time."
