Hampshire and Surrey Play Out Dramatic Tie
Hampshire recorded their second tie in four Women's T20 Blast matches as Surrey, the table leaders, maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament with a thrilling draw.
Surrey all-rounder Alice Monaghan was responsible for defending six runs in the final over, but six singles were taken, resulting in the scores finishing level at 121 in a low-scoring and tense encounter.
Meg Lanning Leads Lancashire Thunder to Victory
In other matches, Meg Lanning scored her second consecutive unbeaten half-century to steer Lancashire Thunder to their first win of the season. The Australian batter remained 75 not out from 48 deliveries as Lancashire defeated Somerset by seven wickets in a one-sided contest at Emirates Old Trafford.
Durham Secure Comfortable Win Over Warwickshire
Durham successfully defended a total of 141 against Warwickshire, who continue to struggle this season, marking another solid performance for Durham.
Detailed Match Reports
The most dramatic moment of the evening took place in Southampton, where Hampshire, having already tied with Somerset earlier in the season, managed another tie to halt Surrey's perfect record.
Surrey found it difficult to handle the slow pitch conditions, with only Alice Davidson-Richards excelling by scoring 40 runs. Birthday celebrant Amanda-Jade Wellington took three wickets for 25 runs.
Surrey appeared to be in control until Nancy Harman's aggressive 43 runs off 26 balls turned the match into a nail-biting finish in the final over.
The first five balls of the last over yielded singles, whether from the bat, leg byes, or extras. The final ball ended with a run out as Rhianna Southby was unable to complete a second run.
Meanwhile, Warwickshire suffered their fourth consecutive defeat after being bowled out for 113 in under 19 overs.
Durham had earlier posted a competitive total of 140 for 5, highlighted by Bess Heath's T20 career-best innings of 61 runs from 39 balls.
Spinners Mady Villiers and Katie Levick each took two wickets for Durham, complemented by the seam bowling of Australian Heather Graham and Sophia Turner, who also claimed two wickets apiece.
Somerset Fall to Lancashire Thunder
At Manchester, Somerset experienced their first loss of the Blast season. After setting a modest target of 137 for 6 in their 20 overs, with captain Sophie Luff contributing 42 runs, they were unable to prevent Lancashire from chasing down the total.
Meg Lanning and Eve Jones combined to hit nine boundaries during a powerplay that produced 62 runs, enabling Lancashire to secure victory inside 16 overs.
