Kiran Carlson Joins London Spirit for The Hundred
Glamorgan captain Kiran Carlson has been in excellent form in the T20 format, notably scoring 109 runs off 45 balls to help Glamorgan secure a victory over Somerset.
Following this performance, the 28-year-old has received his first call-up for The Hundred, having been selected to play for London Spirit, the franchise based at Lord's.
Carlson has previously captained Glamorgan in the One Day Cup, a competition that runs concurrently with The Hundred, leading the team to titles in both 2021 and 2024.
Other Glamorgan Players in The Hundred
In addition to Carlson, Glamorgan batter Sean Dickson has been picked by Birmingham Phoenix in the latest round of selections.
Welsh Fire have named Jordan Clark, Dillon Pennington, Niamh Holland, and Georgia Davis as their wildcard picks. Glamorgan players Ben Kellaway and Asa Tribe were already part of the Welsh Fire squad, which is captained by Welshman Phil Salt.
Mason Crane will also join Carlson at London Spirit, increasing Glamorgan's representation in the competition.
Implications for Glamorgan and The Hundred
With five Glamorgan players now participating in The Hundred, this matches the county's highest contribution to the franchise competition to date.
As a result of these selections, Glamorgan will need to appoint a new captain for the ongoing One Day Cup.
