80-Year-Old Runner Completes 14th London Marathon

Sue Nicholls, an 80-year-old woman from Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, has completed her 14th London Marathon, marking her 31st marathon overall. She participated in the event on Sunday to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Nicholls expressed enjoyment of the run and noted that she improved her time compared to last year, finishing in five hours and 59 minutes. She remarked on her progress, stating she is "improving with age."

"My husband Cliff died of cancer 18 years ago so I decided I need to do something positive, raise some money. I got addicted to running,"

She further commented on her motivation and fitness goals:

"I want to live as long as I can and keep fit. Cliff would have said I'm mad!"

Training and Community Support

Nicholls trains with the Burnham-on-Sea Harriers running club. Todd Johnson, a member of the club, praised her dedication and spirit.

"She's one amazing lady whom we as a running club all adore and cherish beyond words.

We refer to her as our super Sue."

Upcoming Challenge

Looking ahead, Nicholls plans to participate in the Bristol Half Marathon as her next running challenge.
