Competing at the Kroya Waterfall and Kelingking Beach venues, Heslop demonstrated his elite skill level and determination. He steadily advanced to the top of the leaderboard by the third round, setting the stage for a decisive final dive in round four.

Heslop’s concluding dive was a forward four somersaults with 3½ twists in pike position, which carried a degree of difficulty of 5.9. This dive earned the highest single-dive score of the event, with judges awarding 141.60 points. His overall combined score of 419.85 secured first place, ahead of Mexico’s Jonathan Paredes, who scored 379.7, and American James Lichtenstein, who finished with 371.2 points.

"It's been a long time coming, and I can say it's probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, to spend time away from one of the hardest sports in the world, but it feels amazing," Heslop, the 2024 champion, told the Red Bull website.
"I did that last dive and I just felt joy, relief, everything at one time.
"I had a little tear on the jet ski, because this moment just means so much to me, and I'm really happy that I'm back... I can't even put into words how happy I am."
