Idaho Woman Charged with Murder in Deaths of Infant Twins

Andrea Shaw, a 23-year-old mother from Idaho, has been charged with murder following the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, Tyson and Dallas, who passed away last year after reportedly receiving three vaccines. The twins were found deceased in a shared bed on May 1, 2022.

Authorities responded to a report of a possibly deceased child at the family's home in Payette, Idaho. Upon arrival, officers discovered the two twin siblings deceased together. The Payette Police Department initially treated the case as a homicide investigation.

The mother was not immediately identified by investigators, and the cause of death was to be determined by the Ada County medical examiner’s office. More than a year after the incident, the official cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Public Statements and Podcast Appearance

Shortly after the twins' deaths, Andrea Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast associated with the anti-vaccination organization Children’s Health Defense, which was founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a known vaccine skeptic and former health official under Donald Trump’s administration. During the podcast, Shaw claimed that vaccines were responsible for the deaths of her children.

“So, the way they worded it to me, especially on the second day of interrogation, [was] they said that it wasn’t medical and that they determined asphyxiation. And that I had supposedly had a postpartum overwhelming blackout and done it to my children,”

Shaw stated on the podcast that she was being treated as a suspect in the investigation.

Following the podcast appearance, a fundraiser was launched on GiveSendGo, linked to the episode. The family stated that the twins had received routine vaccinations during their 18-month well-child visit and alleged that both infants died in their sleep a few days later. The fundraiser raised over $10,000.

Legal Proceedings and Defense Statements

Andrea Shaw was arrested without incident in Boise on June 30 and is currently held on a $2 million bond. Court documents, as reported by KTVB, indicate that the indictment alleges Shaw suffocated her toddlers.

Shaw’s attorney, Joseph Filicetti, has publicly stated that the twins’ deaths were caused by vaccinations.

“They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it to be,”
“I’m not a medical expert, but the medical experts I have, they go through a series of steps when looking at different complications.”

However, Filicetti did not provide any evidence to KTVB to support these claims when requested.

Shaw’s legal team has also filed a lawsuit against the American Academy of Pediatrics through Children’s Health Defense, asserting that no alternative cause of death has been identified for either child.

Official Statements and Next Steps

Payette Police stated last Tuesday that, due to the case being before the court, they would not provide further comments on the facts or evidence. They indicated that any future information would be released through the judicial process.

Andrea Shaw’s next court appearance in Payette County District Court is scheduled for July 14.
