Body Recovered Following Search at Waterfall Near Loch Lomond
The body of a woman was recovered after an extensive search at the Falls of Falloch, a well-known waterfall beauty spot near Loch Lomond.
Emergency services were alerted at approximately 22:45 on Friday when the woman was reported to be in difficulty in the water near the Falls of Falloch, located close to Crianlarich.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) deployed water rescue units from Oban and Stirling to the site, which features a 30ft (9m) waterfall.
Police Scotland confirmed that the woman's body was recovered around 11:45 on Saturday. Authorities have stated that the death is not considered suspicious.
"Emergency services attended and water searches were carried out. Her death is being treated as unexplained, but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances. Her next of kin have been made aware."
During the search, officers closed the nearby car park and advised visitors to avoid the area.
The Falls of Falloch is situated near the top of Loch Lomond, just off the A82, and is a popular destination for hiking and picnics, especially during the summer months.

Previous Incidents and Safety Measures
In 2021, emergency services rescued eleven individuals who had become stranded after wading onto a rock at the Falls of Falloch. The group was caught off guard when water levels rose rapidly due to heavy rain showers higher in the mountains.
To enhance safety and access, the site was temporarily closed to the public at the end of March. The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority cited a "marked rise in visitor numbers" as the reason for these improvement works.
